Modified on: Tue, Apr 4, 2023 at 8:49 AM

Learn how to report tips for non-benefited employees in PioneerTime.

This article applies to supervisors of non-benefited employees who work in positions that receive tips (for example: golf course or Beans coffee shop).

Certain non-benefited positions will be eligible to receive tips. In accordance with the IRS, all cash and non-cash tips received by an employee are income and are subject to Federal, Social Security, Medicare, and State income taxes. All cash tips received by an employee in any calendar month are subject to social security and Medicare taxes and must be reported to the employer.

Entering the Tip$ pay code in PioneerTime does not affect or increase the employees pay. The Tip$ pay code is reporting what has already been recieved as taxable income.

5. Be sure to hit save (top right) and continue to use these directions to report the tips received for any shift worked.
