Entering Leaves of Absence in PioneerTime

Learn how to enter Leave of Absence (LOA) time in PioneerTime


This article applies to supervisors of benefited employees. 



Note: Non-exempt timecards must be completed edited and approved by supervisors every other week. Supervisors will receive a PioneerTime email reminder as the deadline approaches.



  1. Log in to PioneerTime

  2. Open the timecard for the employee whose balances you wish to view by double-clicking on their name.

  3. Select Go To and then FMLA Leave.



4. The Leave Case Editor tab will open to add the total number of hours per day the person was absent. For example, if an employee who normally works 8 hour days is absent the whole pay period, enter 8 hours per scheduled day. Click Save when all time has been entered. A message confirming that edits were saved will appear near the top left hand corner of the screen.



5. Return to the timecard by clicking X on the FMLA Leave tab.



6. Click Refresh and all hours will populate onto the timecard with the varying pay codes. After the pay period has been signed-off, the hour will transfer into Banner to be reflected on their pay stub.
